Latin='tough body')is a wide, flat bundle of neural fibers connecting the right and left hemispheres and facilitates inter hemispheric communication. It consists of 200-250million contralateral axonal projections.

The human brain is divided into two hemispheres, the left and the right,and connected by a thick cable ( bundle ) of nerves ( axons) at the base of each brain. This sole link between the two giant processors is called corpus callosum.
